About the book
It's Not Fair! is a book that helps guide those supporting children when someone close to
them has died.
The first part of the book is designed to explore the feelings that bereaved children may
have and to understand that their feelings are normal.
The second part of the book contains two stories, that illustrate these emotions. Our first story is about Frankie, a little girl who is very sad about missing her mum.
The final story is about a young boy called Albie, who is very angry following his dad’s death.
Both children begin to heal with the help of a caring supportive adult who listens
to them and enables them to begin to express their fears and emotions.
Meet The Team
An experienced social worker, Wendy now provides therapeutic support for bereaved children. In her private practice she also has a specialist interest in fostering and adoption and therefore an understanding of the trauma associated loss and separation.
Jane trained as a social worker and has worked as an independent psychotherapist. In total she has over 30 years' experience of working with children and their families, the majority of whom have been traumatised by loss.
Jenny's career in a NHS paediatric services enabled her to support families and children with complex needs. Since her retirement Jenny continues to work with disabled children in a voluntary capacity and has developed her interest in art and, in particular, in painting.
Whilst continuing to work therapeutically with families during the Covid19 pandemic, we realise all too well the challenges facing those who are supporting bereaved children at this time. As a result, for the rest of 2020 we have decided to discount the cost of It’s Not Fair! and for purchases received directly it is available for £4.99 including p&p.
In addition to the half price offer of £4.99, we will be donating 20%
of all of the sales made to Daisy’s Dream (daisysdream.org.uk) to support the essential work they do to help bereaved children and their families.
Whilst this offer is restricted to the purchase of individual books made in the UK,
we also welcome enquires with regard to the cost of international shipping
and bespoke pricing for bulk orders.
