Whilst continuing to work

therapeutically with

families during the current

pandemic, we realise all too well the challenges facing those who are supporting bereaved children at this time. As a result, for the rest of this year we have decided to discount the cost of It’s Not Fair!  making it available for £4.99 including p&p.

We use these stories in our work to help children identify their emotions and to facilitate discussion about their experience of the person’s death.  Although The book was designed for children aged four to twelve years, we have found it helpful in our therapeutic support for older children and the language and concepts are also effective when supporting children with learning disabilities.

In addition to the half price offer of £4.99, we will be donating 20% of all of the sales made to Daisy’s Dream to support the essential work they do to help bereaved children and their families.

About the book

It's Not Fair! is a book that helps guide those supporting children when someone close to

them has died.

The first part of the book is designed to explore the feelings that bereaved children may

have and to understand that their feelings are normal.

The second part of the book contains two stories, that illustrate these emotions. Our first story is about Frankie, a little girl who is very sad about missing her mum.

The final story is about a young boy called Albie, who is very angry following his dad’s death.

Both children begin to heal with the help of a caring supportive adult who listens

to them and enables them to begin to express their fears and emotions.

Reviews

"... a thoughtful, engaging and moving children’s book. It offers the idea that it’s okay to accept the many confusing feelings of grief.

I think it will help children understand and cope with grief. I intend to use it in my clinical practice."

"...this book has helped me support a child in my class going through a very sad time.

Thank you"

"As a foster-adopt parent and a psychotherapist I have struggled to find resources that therapeutically approach the topic of loss. This book is perfect for that and come highly recommended by me. The illustrations are great and the wording is very well thought through."
